Elijah stood at the mouth of the cave. The wind tore the mountains. The earth shook. The fire came. And God was not in any of them.

Then — a still small voice. That is where the LORD was.

I want to tell you tonight that God is not always in the thunder of our religious performance. He is often waiting, quietly, at the mouth of the cave, until the noise dies down enough for us to hear Him.

For six months I sat in my own cave. When the still small voice finally came, it said only this: "Child, it is finished." That was enough.
